MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – TWENTY

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – TWENTY

Worldliness and Spirituality are in two different directions. Both are opposite ways of creation. The moment a person takes life he gets involved in worldliness. It is rare that a person is born without worldliness. Such persons are indeed Godly. Worldly persons desire sense pleasures. Happiness has no definition. Wherever the mind is engrossed in, it is believed to be happiness. Happiness is a state of mind. Happiness is borderless. There is no end to happiness. The birth-death-birth cycle as expressed in the saying "punarabi jananam punarabi maranam" is the cause of this endless happiness. But the spiritual path is totally different. I am always immersed in spirituality. Those who want to realize Me must reach Me only through this path of spirituality. They alone can get My vision. In spirituality there is no pleasure. There is only Bliss. This is also called the Bliss experienced by the soul. If the state of this Bliss is also transcended then one reaches the final state of Eternal Bliss. It is in this final state one realizes the ultimate truth called Brahman. Those who have progressed through various stages of spirituality reaching this final state merge in Me.

GURUVAAR   PRARTHNA - 18/05/2017

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, our forefathers enjoyed an age of divinity and purity. Those days all had peace of mind and realized divine waves everywhere. Now our life is in turmoil and living in a world of troubles and problems due to focusing of our major attention towards materialistic agenda and have little or no time to think of spiritualistic agenda. We lost our control on our children and even sometime thinking why do we need this kind of family and children. Before reaching a conclusion on our vexed mind and uselessness of life, Baba, please take control on our life in your Hands and save us. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

The sadhus, the virtuous, the great ones are always pure and without sins. They are clean and clear like an unclouded sky. They are pure and without blemish.

By worshipping Maharaj Sai, we attain both objects, worldly and spiritual, and are fixed in our true nature, getting peace and happiness within.

Those who want to attain their welfare should listen to the stories respectfully, enjoy the bliss of the Self and obtain the objects of their lives.

By listening (to the stories) one's own peace will be attained, the deluding fears of the world will be removed, and supreme bliss will be a certainty. Listeners will attain 'Sadgati' truly.

Sai Samartha knows the innermost desires of people. He is fully aware of the purport of the devotees. He will complete the work which he has taken upon himself and will be freed from his vow.

Sai Samartha inspires my intelligence. He alone makes me speak the meaning of his words. I shall narrate them to the best of my ability, which will help in achieving worldly and spiritual welfare.

People are not blind nor do they suffer from nightblindness. Despite having normal sight they fail to perceive that their own good is not achieved by the strength of their body and mind alone.

Even the body is such that one cannot be certain of life for a moment. Therefore, I earnestly request you to taste this flavour for a moment.

Humour is appreciated universally, but Baba's way was uncommon. Through humour, he would impress on us the most profound teachings which were beneficial to all.

People do not intently pursue jesting; but Baba's humour was taken fondly. They waited eagerly even to be the butt of those jokes.

Generally, no one likes jesting at their cost. But Baba's jests were much appreciated, especially when his words were accompanied by gestures. They easily achieved the desired purpose.

Acting effortlessly and with ease, with a smiling face and playful eyes, these added to the entertainment of the jests. Their sweetness is indescribable.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – NINETEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – NINETEEN

Do not argue with regard to following the disciplines prescribed in scriptures. These disciplines are laid out only for the good of humanity. By adopting good ways of disciplinary life, bad effects of actions are removed. Do not forget that Vedas and Shastras (The Holy Hindu scriptures) repeatedly impress on the good aspects of such disciplines. While following such disciplines, though you may observe the three aspects of the doer, the action and the result, remember that all three are My identity only. If you realize that the creator, preserver and the eliminator are all but Me, only then you will not have the desire for the result of your actions. Even the result of your action is only Me. Therefore whoever remembers Me and carries out their duties by offering them to Me, for such persons My grace and protection will always be available. Therefore if anybody keeps meditating on Me always, their bad deeds reach My feet, leaving them free from the effects. Develop the attitude that you are My personification. I and you are not different. You are but My reflection. If you firmly believe that whatever you see is Me residing in that form, then I am truly yours!

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, as we celebrated yesterday Buddha Poornima, we prayed  for Your blessings of Peace Peace and Peace. With Peace, our life will be meaningful and purposeful; with Peace our spiritual efforts will yield eternal bliss, with Peace our Atma will achieve its Ultimate objective. Baba, bless us and keep us always in Peace. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

The night passed and it was morning. I finished my morning ablutions. Baba returned from the Lendi. People started gathering in the Masjid.

As was customary, in the early morning I came into the Masjid at the usual time. Muktaram and others, too, came and took their seats.

Some were crushing the tobacco in their palms; some were filling Baba's chillum; some were pressing his hands and feet. Thus all were busy serving him.

Baba, who was aware of everyone's innermost thoughts, softly asked: "What was the discussion that took place, last night, in the wada? "

Then I told Baba everything that had transpired; and asked whether a snake should be killed or not, under such circumstances.

But Baba maintained just one thing – that God is present even in serpents and scorpions, and in all beings. Therefore, we should love all.

God holds the reins of the world. All are under His command. Whether it be a snake or a scorpion, it cannot act against His Will.

Therefore, we should be kind to all living things and love them. Give up violence and have patience. God protects every one.

How many such stories of Sai Baba could be narrated? Therefore, the listeners should certainly gather the essence.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – EIGHTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – EIGHTEEN

Everybody longs to get the vision of God. What does He look like? What is His Divine Form? These are questions that everyone long to understand. Let us set that aside. If you understand where He dwells then you can realize the attributes of His existence. In fact temples are utilized to worship only the Form aspect of the Almighty. In reality God dwells within the temple of our hearts. If the heart is pure and unalloyed then our mind will progress towards the true human values. Such is the effect of the presence of God in one's heart. Through those human values, the highest qualities of mercy, dharmic oriented life, following the path of truthful existence, empathy and sympathy with all living beings, true love towards others and such other noble qualities will automatically sprout and blossom. These are the qualities that are to be revered as the true form of God. How could God have only one Form? Whatever is the noble quality one possesses that in itself is the true Form of God. In reality whoever has these great and idealistic qualities are Divinity themselves.

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, You are the power source behind our existence, You are the healer in the midst of our diseases, You are the provider in the midst of our innumerable needs. You are the GPS to our destiny in the midst of our confusion. You are an ever present help in times of trouble. You are the supplier of peace when we are battling with worries. You are the anchor of our hope when everything is appearing hopeless. You are the key to our breakthrough in the midst of delays and failure. You are everything for us, on this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

Just as Kakasaheb Dixit read the Nath Bhagvat in the day, every night he read the Bhavarth Ramayan (by Eknath).

It was so regular that sometimes even the offering of flowers to God could be missed, or he could miss other customary duties or neglect his bath; but the time which he himself had alloted for reading them was always adhered.

Both these books, written by Eknath, contained the essence of divine knowledge. Dixit thought them to be Sai Samaratha's blessing to him.

In these two unique books, which were also very appealing, the knowledge of self, non-attachment and practice of ethics – these three qualities – continued to form the three-fold wick of flame, which shone with divine light.

He who has sipped from the cup, containing the nectar of the preachings of these books, is fortunate. He overcomes the three-fold difficulties of the material world at the same time, and reaches the ultimate (moksha).

By Sai's Grace, Dixit needed a listener and I got the opportunity to listen to the Bhagvat and was thus obliged.

I began to attend the sessions, day and night, due to good fortune, which purified my ears.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – SEVENTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – SEVENTEEN

If there is any rationale beyond questioning it is Mine. Through rationale you can not fathom Me. My actions will be apparently contradictory, secretive and beyond comprehension. In whichever way a person worships Me, I can correspond to him. Where there is faith I will be there with that faith. My very embodiment is faith. My miracles are unique experiences themselves. For some the experience will be externally perceptible and for others the same may be latent. You will not be able to understand the inner meaning of such experiences. I am a witness to your many past, present and future lives. Based on individual karma I bestow the appropriate result. If you understand that whatever the result bestowed on you is My will then you have understood Me. Therefore if you worry about unfulfilled desires and non availability of your wants there is no use of the same. In order that you get salvation and to make you realize My presence, I perform My miracles. If you dwell on My miracles and intensely immerse your thoughts on them, you will then understand who I am.

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, days are passing, weeks are passing, months are passing, even years are passing, yet we didn't get any answer to our prayers from You. Still we are upholding Your doctrine of shraddha and sabhuri. Still our mind and thinking towards Your ability to protect us, help us, save us and bless us. Our only appeal is to keep our confidence level elevated at all times without minding any results on our prayers. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

He had a long experience of Baba. He knew Baba's nature and his manner of speaking. Therefore, he understood this fully.

If there was any danger to a devotee, Baba would say that it affected him. Amir was aware of this kind of speech. Therefore, he had come to this conclusion.

Just then, he saw something moving near his own pillow. " Abdul, bring the lamp, the lamp here ", Amir shouted.

When the lamp was brought outside, a large serpent was seen coiled there. He was dazzled by the light and he began to move his hood up and down.

It was killed immediately. He felt very grateful to Baba, and thought how extraordinary this method was of making us aware.

That mention of the ghost and calling for the lamp was only a kind of trick to caution the devotees of the danger and to save them from the calamity.

There are a number of such stories about serpents in Baba's biography which could be described. But then the book would become very voluminous. Therefore, I have to curtail them.

" Snakes and serpents are Narayan, but they should be worshipped from a distance ", says Saint Tukaram.

He calls them wicked and deserving of a beating with a shoe. However, the opinion is not unanimous and one is left in doubt as to the mode of one's treatment of them.

One acts according to one's nature and in keeping with God's will. This is the essence of it all.

There is only one answer to this question. All beings are equal and non-violence is always the best. Baba, too, had the same explanation.

Whether it be a scorpion or a snake, God is within them too. If He does not wish to harm, no harm will be done by them.

The whole universe is under the command of God. Nothing here is independent. This is Baba's knowledge through experience. But we cannot accept that because of our ego.

Once a scorpion fell into a pond. As he was drowning and heading to the bottom, a man happily clapped and said: "Oh, you likewise harm us! "

Another, hearing the clapping, came running to the bank of the pond and saw the scorpion bobbing up and down, while drowning. He was moved and took pity on him.

He went near it and picked up the scorpion between his fingers. But the scorpion, according to its nature, jumped up and stung his fingers.

In such a case, our knowledge is limited. We are entirely slaves of destiny (God) who bestows us with intelligence. Everything that takes place in our lives is according to His wish.

Different people have varied experiences. I will also tell my own experience. Sai's words are the authority for my faith and my faith is my glory.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – SIXTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – SIXTEEN

If a hungry person stands at the gate of your house seeking alms, remember that he has come to honor you with an opportunity to serve you. Do not think that such opportunities will keep repeating. Do not feel disgusted that a beggar is approaching you for money or for food. Even if you externally perceive the same as beggary, you do not realize that he is taking over your sanchita karma. Those who are hungry do not have any form for their hunger. He only has suffering. I am that form of hunger. In fact I am the root cause of the hunger itself. I do not accept anything with the intention of getting any favor in return. All My actions are centered towards rendering service to humanity. When I provide you an opportunity such as the above, at your doorstep to wash away your sins do not dwell on the greed of wealth, property and such worldly matters. This will ensure that My help is not denied to you. If you give a morsel of food, your wealth will not be diminished. Similarly, love and sympathy shown towards other forms of life will also reach Me. I am bound by such pure Love. This is the simplest path to reach Me. Believe Me.

'O, Baba! What have I done? How have I drawn this burden upon me? My own actions have brought these fruits. I have understood this fully.

I left the Chavadi in the hope of finding a better place. Therefore, you have taught me a lesson. So be it. Now take me out of this predicament and see that I reach Shirdi'.

Thus he got himself ready and Amir left in the night itself, leaving the corpse behind in the dharamshala.

" Baba, Baba ", he said, "Please pardon me. Have mercy. " He walked petitioning all the way till he reached the Chavadi. He then got relief.

In this way, Amir learnt a lesson and took an oath to behave himself. Later, Amir behaved well and gave up the wrong and crooked path.

So be it. His faith bore fruit and he was cured of his rheumatism. Now listen to what incident took place later on.

The Chavadi was divided into three parts. Baba's corner was in the south east. He slept in a place covered on all four sides by wooden planks.

Lamps burnt there the whole night. He slept always in the light, throughout the night. Fakirs and others used to sit outside, where it would be dark.

Amir was one of them. Around him there were other people, who also lay down there. There were so many, like these.

There, behind Baba's living quarters, was a store-room in which a devotee called Abdul, a very detached person, lived. He was always ready to serve Baba.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – FIFTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – FIFTEEN

If you continue to always be attached to the worldly pleasures and get intoxicated in them, then you will never be able to reach Me. If you have excessive desire for such worldly fleeting happiness when will you have time for Me? You will then be left with no choice other than to be physically weak, disabled and old, awaiting your end. At that time what can you do? You will be born again and again. I have been trying to redeem you from that situation. Still nobody listens. Will Allah come to your rescue only as and when you want? This very moment is in your control. Just listen to Me carefully. Soak your thoughts with My blissful miracles. Ponder deeply over them. Compare the wealth of joy you will derive from such act of spirituality to the passing worldly happiness. You will then realize the inner meaning of My words. Will there be any eternal and everlasting happiness other than thinking of Me? Whatever be your daily chores they will not be affected by My thoughts. On the other hand My thoughts will strengthen your efforts. I will be of support to you. Do not postpone such a good act till tomorrow.

Amir Shakkar lived at the Chavadi for nine months. Just as one climbed the steps into the Chavadi, right in front, he spread out his bedding in the middle of the room.

Rheumatism had totally gripped his body. Seemingly, the antidote was also adverse. But in his heart he had true faith; therefore, everything smoothened out.

Amir was asked to live there for nine months and was prohibited from coming for darshan even in the Masjid.

But that Chavadi which was allotted to him to stay was such a place that without any effort it was possible to have Baba's darshan.

That too, every day, both in the morning and evening. Besides, on alternate days, at both the times6, he would witness the celebrations at the Chavadi to his heart's content.

Every day in the morning, when Baba went to beg alms, Baba passed the Chavadi, on his way. It was easily possible for Amir to have darshan when Baba went or returned, without leaving his place.

Also, at sunset, Baba would come in front of the Chavadi, and would pay homage to all the directions bowing his head and moving his index finger.

From there he would turn back and walk upto the corner of the Samadhi building and from here he turned back to the masjid, accompanied by his devotees.

He came to the Chavadi every other day and there was only a curtain between them for name's sake – actually, a wooden shutter – thus they were able to converse. And both loved to talk.

Puja and arati would take place there only, after which the devotees would disperse for their respective homes; and the two of them would get the opportunity to talk peacefully.

Seemingly it was an imprisonment. But, in reality, he enjoyed Sai's company fully. Without good fortune no one else could have this rare opportunity.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – FOURTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES –  FOURTEEN

There will be a good harvest on a fertile soil. There is a need to plough even such a rich soil. The soil also has to be watered regularly. Proper planting of saplings are essential. Due care has to be taken while tending the plants. If you undertake such efforts then good harvest can be expected. Your heart is also like fertile soil. Nobody is born with a poor heart. When selfishness overcomes the mind then weakness prevails. When selfish desires are not fulfilled, then evil qualities arise. Such evil qualities become the root cause for bad events. This ultimately leads to destruction. Therefore, whoever is far removed from lust, evil and other such negative qualities will become a divine person. If you want to ensure such negative qualities do not sprout in your mind then, it is imperative that you keep Me in your heart always. By the pristine purity of My Form, cleanse your heart and keep it sacred. Then you become totally pure. I will be ever present in the minds of those people who are not weak but pure in their heart. I fulfill all their desires. Certainly such individuals get complete peace of mind.

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, the life You have given is a marvelous gift. We spend our days, weeks, months and years complaining without realizing that we have something to celebrate. We complain about our jobs, finances, relationships, society, careers, businesses without noticing the gift we have been given. Our circumstances blind us from the gift we are supposed to celebrate. And it is only when sickness and death comes knocking at our door that we wake up to the fact that we have a gift, a gift we have been ignoring, a gift we need to celebrate daily. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

So be it. Amir bowed down and kissed Baba's hand with the proper ritual. He related in detail about his disease and prayed for relief from his suffering.

He asked for protection against rheumatism to which Baba answered: "Go and live happily in the Chavadi ".

From the Masjid, Baba used to go to the Chavadi every alternate night regularly; and Amir started to live there.

Amir was suffering from pains in the joints. Therefore, he would have been comfortable at any other place in the village, or he could have even gone to Korale which would have been more agreeable to him.

But the Chavadi was an old and dilapidated building. The floor was uneven where chameleons, lizards, scorpions and snakes roamed freely.

Besides, lepers and other diseased persons lived there. Dogs roamed around eating left-over food. Amir was very troubled but he couldn't say anything to Baba.

At the rear side, there was a knee-deep heap of garbage. There were a number of burrows (made by serpents and scorpions) in the backyard. He was in a wretched condition and it was a real ordeal of a lifetime for him.

It rained from above and below the ground was wet. The place was uneven. Cold breezes blew through it. Amir was very worried.

All the joints in his body were stiff. The place was wet and windy. It was an extremely wet place. But Baba's words served as the medicine.

Rain, wind or wet; the ground rough, uneven, or pitted – all this was not to be considered, as Baba had told him to live there.

Although that place was questionable and unfit to live in, Sai's presence and company were a great boon. He stayed on happily thinking those words to be his medicine.

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – THIRTEEN

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES –  THIRTEEN

I do not have the power to make you fly in the sky by giving you a Mantra for recitation. Do not expect such power to be bestowed on you by me. I am not the Almighty. I am just a servant of God. I was longing earnestly for His blessings. My Lord Allah is full of mercy. He has granted a bounty of spiritual wealth. There is no equal to Him. For Me too, there is no relation other than Him. I can not be away from Him even for a minute. I can not bear His separation even for a moment. I seek Him only through this path. I got His blessings. For you there are relatives. But for Me, He is the only one who is my closest and nearest. Allah is my Master. He is my Father, Mother and every relative. You may also adopt this path and reach Me. For this to happen only the path of devotion is the surest. The relationship borne out of devotion will permanently link you to Me. It will be difficult to reach Me through other means. If you are saturated with devotion towards Me, I will be also be saturated with Love for you. This is My path.

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, You are keeping us busy always and sometimes this frustrating without any interest in life. We don't know when this will change. We pray but still we didn't get any improvement, You are keeping us on long waiting period, this make us angry on You. Being our Divine Father, we never expected such treatment from You, please always keep us peaceful and stable mind, without diverting our attention away from You. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

Here is another similar story. At about midnight, it happened in the Chavadi, before Baba. Please listen to that.

A certain Amir Shakkar, owning ancestral land at Korale, in Kopergaon Taluka had faith in Sai.

By caste he was a butcher and by occupation he was a broker. He was well-known in Bandra. He was greatly suffering from a disease, which had terribly affected his limbs.

Difficulties remind one of God. He left the toils and troubles of business; wound up everything and hastened to Shirdi.

Kunti, the mother of the five Pandavas, had to undergo all kinds of sufferings – to reside in a jungle for years incognito. But in spite of all her difficulties, she asked for 'misery' as a 'boon' from God!

She said: "O God Almighty! You may give happiness to those who ask for it; but give me continuous suffering always. Let me never forget your name.

O God, this is my only request. If you want to grant me anything, give me only this, so that I may never forget your name. It will be like an ornament around my throat ".

Listeners and this speaker, let us ask the same from Sai, day and night. "Let us not forget your name. Keep us at your feet ".

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – TWELVE

MY MESSAGE TO MY DEVOTEES – TWELVE

The body born out of physical pleasure gets destroyed by death. Therefore the body is not permanent. This is known from the time of birth. It is ignorant to be sorrowful. The time span between birth and death is the period for one to make efforts to realize God. By getting involved in physical pleasures during such a rare period, man is getting caught in the eternal cycle of birth and death. Rebirth is unavoidable in such a situation. Only the individual has the power to ensure avoiding rebirth through his efforts. Those who aspire for eternal bliss and permanent salvation must be without any desire. By detaching oneself from body consciousness and family bondage, one must seek Me. Those who long to realize me with a sense of urgency, only for such people I will be near and dear. Those who long for Me till the end will merge in Me. Constant repetition of My name will ensure such a person will not have rebirth. By incessantly remembering Me, the person ultimately dissolves into Me.

Have faith in My Sayings

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, our life without You is incomplete, it is like a flying aircraft without pilot, riding in a moving car without a driver, it is like walking in a dense forest at night without flash light, it is like attempting to make a normal call on a cell phone without sim card, it is tasteless, it is blind, it is cruel, it is a hell on earth, it is a precursor of devastation which will lead to destruction of this world. Baba, please be with us protect us. On this holy day, we start our prayers by reading Your divine guidance from Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

Once, a famous astrologer whose name was Nana Dengle waswith Shrimant Butti. Listen to what he said to him.

" To-day is a very inauspicious day. Some calamity is to befall you. Have courage but be very careful ".

After Dengle had said this, Bapusaheb was restless. He kept worrying all the time and time dragged heavily.

Later on, the whole group went to the Masjid at the usual time. Bapusaheb, Nana and all others went along and sat with Baba.

Immediately Baba asked Butti: "Well what does this Nana say? Does he predict your death? You have nothing to fear.

Retort to him without any hesitation. 'You can kill me if you dare to!' After this, now watch what miracle happened.

In the evening, Bapusaheb went outside to the toilet to ease himself; and, in the toilet there came a snake, at that time.

Looking at that terrible creature, Bapusaheb came out, while Lahnoo, his servant, thought of killing it with a stone.

Lahnoo tried to pick up a stone. Bapusaheb objected. He said: "Go bring a stick. It is not right to do this kind of work hastily ".

When the servant left to get the stick, the snake began to climb the wall, suddenly lost its balance and fell down. Then he crept away through a hole.

From there, it escaped and there remained no reason to kill it. The incidence reminded him of Baba's words and, as it were, the ordeal was over for both – the serpent and him.

Be it so. For him, who has by good fortune witnessed the pleasure of Sai's company, it is a source of joy forever and it is impossible to forget.

By making the devotees undergo such and similar experiences, he has attracted the hearts of his devotees; and to describe them in words, it would be always inadequate5.
