On May 18, 2011, Sripad B.M. Puri Maharaja, along with Sripad B.P. Janardan Maharaja, presented a lecture to the Bhakti Club at the University of California Santa Cruz. Entitled "The Evolution of Consciousness," an outline of the Vedic Theory of Evolution was presented and compared with the materialistic Darwinian conception.
